Commercial Piano Workbook I
Over 100 pages, and based on the workbooks I created to use at CU Denver, this is full of original examples of contemporary styles, breaking down the fundamental techniques and chord progressions found in the vast majority of popular music today.
45 play-along tracks included, a 16-week sample syllabus and a Final Test for teachers to use, sight-reading and scales addenda, and instructional videos coming soon on YouTube.
Designed for students with basic music theory knowledge, and the ability to play chordal accompaniments--recommended for ages 8+, through college and beyond.
This is the first of four workbooks that will cover increasingly complex harmonies and techniques, so that you can play and compose music in the styles of contemporary piano heros such as Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Coldplay, Brian McKnight, and Regina Spektor.
Workbook I takes the student from the basic fundamentals of piano geography and chordal techniques, through the typical "four chord song" progressions, the 12-bar blues, and pentatonic scale melodies and beginning improvisation.
The Commercial Piano Workbook I is $20, plus shipping.
